Susan Rosalind Vesely was born in Birmingham, England in 1953. She obtained her degree in Fine Art from the Heart of England University in Birmingham in 1977. She then went to the Royal College of Art in London and obtained an MA from the painting school in 1981.

Susan now lives in the East Midlands, England. She occasionally runs painting/drawing workshops and classes and has done some tuition at the Heart of England University, but most of her time is spent painting in her studio. Susan is married and has two children.
